This decorative piece, the Otcoh Fan, is crafted from hand-carved tzalam wood or Ciricote wood and woven jipi japa palm fibers by artisans from Becal, Campeche. In Aztec society, fans were not only functional but also symbols of status and luxury, often used by the nobility and merchant elite (pochtecah). This piece pays homage to that tradition while showcasing the skill of contemporary Mexican artisans.
