Collection: Colima

The original civilization of Colima thrived from 500 BC to AD 600. Although they left no written records, we have learned a lot from the extraordinary pottery that was buried with their dead. Our brilliant vermilion and charcoal black vessels are formed with a bulbous shape and supported by three rounded feet - a nod to their Mesoamerican past. This collection would not be complete without the Colima dog, a companion in the life of early Colima people and a guide in the afterlife. Enjoy these ancient forms reimagined by contemporary Mexican artisans.
